Achieving a successful balance between your work life and your home life is only possible if you know what you actually want.
Too often we have a vague idea about what we really want from life. Ask someone what they wish for and they’ll say, “I want to be rich.’
99.9% of the time they never get their wish because it’s vague. What is rich? $5 more than what they currently have? $10,000?
Clarity
You must have absolute clarity about what you want in life. If you want to be rich, you need to know exactly how much income you’ll be pulling in every month.
Where will you stay? How big will your home be? What is your net worth like? How will you make the money?
All these questions need to be answered so that you have a crystal clear picture of what it is you actually want.
If you wish to make 25 thousand a month from your online business, that’s clarity. Saying you want to quit your day job and live a laptop lifestyle is a wish that in most cases will not come true.
Form a strategy
Now that you know what you want, it’s time to form a strategic plan. How many hours will you work? What skills will you learn to attain your goals?
How much free time do you want to pursue your leisure activities? Do you have a daily routine?
Put it all down on paper and streamline and fine-tune your plan until it’s a blueprint for success… and work the plan.
Major goals and milestones
Once you decide on your major goals (try not to have more than 3 at a time), it’s time to plan out realistically how long it will take you to achieve them. Lay out smaller milestones that you need to reach before you reach your ultimate goal.
For example, if you’re trying to lose 30 pounds, then a time frame of 15 weeks would be reasonable. 2 pounds a week would be a good milestone to aim for.
Each week, you know you’ll need to hit that 2 pounds. If you do, congrats! You’re on the right track. If you don’t, you’ll need to go harder and see what’s tripping you up.
The same applies to income goals. To make $250 a day at your online business, you’ll first need to get to $50 a day, then $100, then $150, and so on. All these are milestones to hit.
If you only aim for the ultimate goal of $250, you’ll be intimidated and it’ll seem to be taking forever to get there. It’s very easy to lose drive and motivation when you don’t have smaller milestones to track your progress.
With a clear idea of what you want in life, it’ll be much easier for you to get it. All books on the law of attraction will tell you to be specific when it comes to your desires.
You can’t go anywhere if you don’t know where you want to go. Spend time writing down what it is you actually want and be as specific as possible. The devil is in the details.
The more detailed you are, the higher your chances of making your dreams a reality.
